Pastor Carl Fiskness has been serving at Green Lake Free Lutheran Church since March of 2018. He also began serving as the pastor of Wang Lutheran Church of Maynard in January 2023.
Pastor Carl grew up in New London, MN, attended college and sang in the concert choir at St. Cloud State University. Upon graduation, he attended seminary in St. Paul, MN. Presently, he is enrolled in the Master of Sacred Theology Degree program with the Institute of Lutheran Theology located in Brookings, SD.
Before serving at Green Lake & Wang, Carl was a pastor at Brookston & Culver and later Floodwood, MN (all near Duluth) and taught one year of high school Spanish in Ortonville, MN.
He presently serves as the secretary for the AFLC West Central MN District pastors and was also elected to the board of the Georg Sverdrup Society.
Besides church work, he also sits on the boards of the Monongalia Historical Preservation Society, Fedraheimen Sons of Norway out of Willmar, Willmar UHF and is chaplain for the New London Sons of the American Legion.
He is the proud father of a nine-year old daughter.
For the fall of 2024, Carl is on a four-month leave of absence while he student teaches in Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Schools. Seminarians are other pastors are filling the pulpit in his absence.
