our pastor

Pastor Carl Fiskness has been serving at Green Lake Free Lutheran Church since March of 2018.   He also began serving as the pastor of Wang Lutheran Church of Maynard in January 2023.

Pastor Carl grew up in New London, MN, attended college and sang in the concert choir at St. Cloud State University.  Upon graduation, he attended seminary in St. Paul, MN.  He is a student in the Master of Sacred Theology Degree program with the Institute of Lutheran Theology located in Brookings, SD.

Before serving at Green Lake & Wang, Carl was a pastor at Brookston & Culver and later Floodwood, MN (all near Duluth) and taught one year of high school Spanish in Ortonville, MN.

He presently serves on the board of the Georg Sverdrup Society.

Besides church work, he also sits on the boards of the Monongalia Historical Preservation Society, Willmar UHF, and is chaplain for the New London Sons of the American Legion.  He also is active with the Fedraheimen Sons of Norway of Willmar.

He is the proud father of a ten-year old daughter.
